Mel Ross is an Albuquerque-born, Los Angeles-based recording artist. His music marries an introspective, often narrative driven lyricism with dynamic pop melodies, cumulating in a sound simultaneously familiar and fresh.
Since arriving in LA as a teenager to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Mel has sharpened his craft as an artist and storyteller across mediums. He aims to create immersive, rich experiences for fans, both visually and sonically.
With his debut EP ‘New Mexico’, Mel has tackled what it means to come home to the stories, sounds, and places that make us the people we are. From the trip hop teenage wasteland on ‘Baby Blue’, to the soaring cowboy chorus of ‘Cry’, Mel seeks to create a record that hits as impossibly high and devastatingly low as teenhood itself.
